Gritty Semniotics: A History of Design in Philadelphia

Associate Professor, Maribeth Kradel-Weitzel, has several pieces featured in the exhibition, “Gritty Semniotics: A History of Design in Philadelphia.” This exhibition features a range of work, both contemporary and historical, that represent the soul of graphic design in Philadelphia. The show is located in AIGA Philadelphia’s SPACE at 72 North Second Street and will be on display until July 17.


End-of-Semester Reviews and Senior Exit Interviews

The end of the Spring semester 2013 saw a buzz of activity from End-of-Semester, all-Class Reviews to Senior Exit Interviews for each graduating senior, there certainly was a lot going on. The End-of-Semester Reviews were held in the new DEC Center building for the first time ever. Senior Exit Interviews—one-half hour appointments with each graduating senior where they present their body of work and portfolio to the faculty—were still held in the Graphic Design studios in Hayward Hall.


Senior Design Show 2013 and Top 5 Senior Portfolios

At the Annual Senior Design Show, the following students were recipients of the 2013 Philadelphia University Maurice Kanbar Awards and the Graphic Design Communication Top 5 Senior Portfolios: Laura Hofmann Moyer, Gold Award; Ali Doucette, Silver Award; Christina Minopoli, Bronze Award; Jewell Richardson and Jeffrey Stiefel, Honorable Mention.
