Faculty Help AIGA to Celebrate 100 Years

To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the AIGA (the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the professional association for design), Program Director and Professor Frank Baseman (far below), Adjunct Professor Laurie Churchman (below), and former Adjunct Professor, Joel Katz all were invited to participate in the AIGA Centennial, “Celebrating AIGA, 1914–2014” project.


Baseman Speaks at HOW Design Live 2014 Conference

Program Director and Professor Frank Baseman was honored and humbled to be invited to speak at HOW Design Live 2014 in Boston. Frank presented “Caution: Speed Bumps Ahead: Things I’m Still Learning About Working with Students on Real-World, Collaborative, Interdisciplinary Projects. Case Studies from the Philadelphia University Design Workshop” course.


Senior Design Show 2014 and Top 5 Senior Portfolios

At the Annual Senior Design Show, the following students were recipients of the 2014 Philadelphia University Maurice Kanbar Awards and the Graphic Design Communication Top 5 Senior Portfolios: Kristine Marie Garcia, Gold Award; Giovanni Frias, Silver Award; Carolina Barbosa, Bronze Award; Vicki Ewing, Danielle Knauer and Nadin Radwan, Honorable Mention. In addition, Kristine Marie Garcia won both the Excellence in Graphic Design (Top Senior) Award and the Employer Choice Award. The PhilaU Senior Design Show 2014 poster was designed and illustrated by Samantha Kibler (PhilaU GDC, 2014) in the Philadelphia University Design Workshop (PUDW) course.
