Graphis Gold for Karnes Poster

A poster by Assistant Professor Eric Karnes was recently awarded a Gold by Graphis Poster, one of the most respected international poster competitions. The selected poster was for a Richmond-based jeweler and fine artist. This is the third year in a row that Eric’s work has been recognized by Graphis.

Class of 2015: we’ll miss you guys!

Graduation 2015 was sweet yesterday at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Center City Philadelphia. A good time was had by all, and we even managed a group shot of  some of the (now) new alums with some of the faculty. Class of 2015: we’ll miss you guys! 2015 PhilaU Showcase and Top 5 Senior Portfolios

At the Annual 2015 PhilaU Showcase (aka Senior Design Show), the following students were recipients of the 2015 PhilaU Graphic Design Top 5 Senior Portfolio Awards: 1. Jessica Eversmeyer; 2. Tabitha Ahnert; 3. Kelsey Veurink; 4. Rebecca Baker; 5. Sarah Driban. Best Capstone Project: Bunley Lim. Showcase Choice Award: Jaclyn Scafidi. In addition, Tabitha Ahnert won the Excellence in Graphic Design (Top Senior) Award. All of these awards were voted on by the entire Graphic Design faculty. The 2015 PhilaU Showcase poster was designed and illustrated by Liz Dell (PhilaU GDC, 2015) in the Philadelphia University Design Workshop (PUDW) course.


End-of-Semester Reviews and 2015 Senior Exit Interviews

The end of the Spring semester 2015 saw a buzz of activity from End-of-Semester, all-Class Reviews to Senior Exit Interviews for each graduating senior, there certainly was a lot going on. The End-of-Semester Reviews were held in the DEC Center building and included all-Freshmen (for the first time), all-Junior, and all-Sophomore Reviews.


AIGA PHL Feedback at PhilaU

“Feedback 17,” the annual Senior Portfolio Review event produced by AIGA Philadelphia, was recently hosted at PhilaU. The Feedback event, now in it’s seventeenth consecutive year, provides a great opportunity for graduating seniors to present their portfolios to some of the best Creative Directors, Art Directors and Designers in the Philadelphia area, and to receive valuable “feedback” (thus the name) on their portfolio.


DiSanto Design Sponsors Challenger League Baseball Team

DiSanto Design, founded by Visiting Assistant Professor Rose DiSanto, is the proud sponsor of the 2015 Challenger League Phillies. The Challenger League is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for boys and girls with physical and developmental challenges. Rose’s brother, Coach Frank, and nephew show off the new team jerseys.
