Collection: COLLIDE

Katherine Voigt, Emily Ray

Fashion Design

COLLIDE is the breakout collaborative collection and brand name from Katherine Voigt and Emily Ray which exemplifies what collaboration truly means to them. As best friends from college, they have decided to embrace their differences with a collision of ideas, ultimately creating a brand that appeals to all customers and their differences.

This collection combines two completely different designers’ perspectives through color gradients. Katherine’s influence introduces the structural geometry and intricacy of snowflakes, while Emily brings inspiration from Guatemalan Culture and the History of the Guatemalan Worry Dolls. Among the fabrication methods used are mixed media, embroidery floss, sheer fabrics, hand drawn prints, digitally drawn prints printed at the PhilaU Digital Print Design Studios, and even a 3-D Doodler. Interaction with the student body and collaboration helped execute COLLIDE to its fullest potential.

With contrasting aesthetics coming together, this contemporary brand mixes and matches separates to appeal to all styles. The collection embraces the significance of loving what makes you an individual. The charm lies in bold prints, soft hues, contrasting themes, and a myriad of style lines in between; as a wearer, you’re encouraged to find yourself. Find your style, find you, and find everything else in between.
