Business, Engineering, Graphic Design Communication, Industrial Design

A semester-long interdisciplinary collaboration among Business, Engineering, Graphic Design Communication, and Industrial Design students in which they were challenged by Georgia Pacific—a leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging—to explore a new-to-the-industry e-commerce package/shipping experience that delivers a product from an e-tailer to the consumer. Georgia Pacific was looking for something that: delights their customers; serves as a marketing vehicle; adds functionality; is easy and convenient to open; is unique and innovative; focuses on creating secondary packaging; is sustainable or recyclable; and potentially reduces cost. Students were divided into four teams to develop concepts, build prototypes and ultimately present their ideas to Georgia Pacific.
