In an effort to raise money and awareness for Philadelphia University’s Student Alumni Association (SAA), student members are hosting a special “What-to-Wear” contest now through Nov. 18.
Students are invited to submit photos of their best: class, gym, dress-for-success, night-out or handmade outfits for judging by adjunct professor of Fashion Design Jay McCarroll, a former student and winner of the first season of Bravo TV’s Project Runway reality show. The submission that exhibits the best style will receive a movie-pack prize containing movie tickets, snacks and more. Second place will receive a year-long magazine subscription of his or her choice. Judging will take place over the Thanksgiving holiday. Winners will be notified of their prizes during the week of Nov. 26.
“We feel that PhilaU is a very well-dressed community,” said Jessica Enichen, president of SAA. “This is a great opportunity for the campus to show it.”
To participate, students may send photos and corresponding entry fees—$0.50 per photo or five photos for $2—to SAA member Meghan McHugh, Box 1544, or emailed to SAAPhilaU@hotmail.com. Submissions must be received by 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18.
Proceeds will help SAA executive board officials participate in an annual conference of university student alumni associations and fund a student networking event later in the academic year.
