New environmental sustainability program featured in Philadelphia Inquirer story on “green” campuses

Philadelphia University’s new major in environmental sustainability was highlighted in an Aug. 25 Philadelphia Inquirer story on steps that colleges and universities are taking to make their campuses “greener,” both in academics and operations.  “Our program is going to focus on solutions, working with companies and organizations to create sustainable approaches to what they do,” explained Tom Schrand, associate dean of the School of Liberal Arts.  Freshman Jenny Clay, one of the program’s first students, told the Inquirer she wants to make a career out of preserving the environment.  Stefanie Loglisci, also a freshman in the new major, was featured in a photograph with Schrand.
