Volunteers are needed for the University’s first-ever, campus-wide, community service event. The Day of Service is scheduled for Wed., Oct. 1 and class time will be allocated to allow all faculty, staff and students to participate in the activities. The Day of Service will kick-off the Presidential Inauguration Week activities for Dr. Stephen Spinelli Jr.
There are several ways for faculty, staff and students to get involved:
- Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to propose service projects. Please complete the Project Proposal Form by Tues., Sept. 9. Projects are still needed in all categories listed below.
- Faculty and staff are also asked to lead service projects. If interested, contact Carmel Madonna in the Office of Student Life at ext. 2740.
There are several ways for students to get involved:
- Students who are involved in athletics, campus groups or classes can sign up with a group. Students should ask coaches, club/group presidents or professors if your team, group or class can be participate as Group Volunteers for a service project.
- Students may sign-up as individual volunteers and select an area of interest. You will be placed with a volunteer group and be notified about the group and project to which you have been assigned in the weeks prior to the Day of Service.

A campus-wide picnic will be held Oct. 1 from 4-6 p.m. to celebrate the Day of Service activities. All volunteers from the day are encouraged to participate in the celebration.
