Woodland Named 2008 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Field Hockey Performer of the Year

Philadelphia University senior forward Brooke Woodland has been named the 2008 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Field Hockey Performer of the Year.

Woodland is one of 12 student-athletes selected to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Field Hockey Team. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

In 2008, Woodland led the Rams with 32 points, matching her own single-season school record with 15 goals and two assists.

She listed fourth and seventh in the NCAA Division II rankings in goals per game (1.07) and points in a season (32), respectively.

Woodland owns the University’s single-game record for nine points and four goals. She claimed All-America recognition from www.womensfieldhockey.com in 2005. Woodland earned Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area distinction as a sophomore.

She is a two-sport athlete, also playing four seasons for the Rams women’s lacrosse team.
