PhilaU’s First Ever NCAA Nat’l Championship Runner Simonetti Finishes 54th

Philadelphia University sophomore and cross country standout Sarah Simonetti wrapped up her second year with the Rams in a 54th place in a field of 184 at the NCAA DII Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 21, running a 22:18 6K. She finished 13th among sophomores in the 6K event.

Her time of 22:18 in the 6K was a career-best, shattering her NCAA Regional time of 22:52 from two weeks prior. The race officially ends the 2009 cross country season.

She is the first PhilaU cross country student-athlete to ever advance to the NCAA National Championships.
