Philadelphia University will host a Service-Learning Showcase on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. in the Kanbar Campus Center Performance Space. Students enrolled in the fall sections of SERVE-101 will display their service-learning projects. Projects took place with several different organizations in the Philadelphia area including Habitat for Humanity, Shriner’s Hospital, PAWS and St. Bridget Elementary School.
The event will also recognize the contributions of community partners that hosted sites for the Community Service PLUNGE!, Day of Service and SERVE-101 projects.
Opening remarks will be provided by Provost Randy Swearer. David Losinno, president and CEO of Special People in Northeast (SPIN), will then offer comments on the impact volunteers have in meeting the needs of the community.
The event is free and open to the University community. Refreshments will be served.
