Dr. David Brookstein, dean of the School of Engineering and Textiles, was a guest at the MAG Industrial Automation Systems Composites Research Center Grand Opening in Göppingen, Germany on Dec. 3. Mo Meidar ’70, Hon.D.’09, a member of the Philadelphia University Board of Trustees, is chairman and CEO of MAG Industrial Automation Systems. Alumnus Leon Bryn ’74, president of TCI Composites, also attended the opening.

Earlier this year, MAG donated a fully automated, state-of-the-art prototyping machine called a Vertical Machining Center (VMC) for producing complex tooling and will provide a sophisticated, hands-on tool for faculty and students to build prototype parts for class work and research projects. The VMC is part of Philadelphia University’s Biomedical Textile Structures Laboratory.
