Dean Brookstein Guest at MAG Research Center Opening in Germany; Company led by Alumnus and Trustee Mo Meidar

Dr. David Brookstein, dean of the School of Engineering and Textiles, was a guest at the MAG Industrial Automation Systems Composites Research Center Grand Opening in Göppingen, Germany on Dec. 3. Mo Meidar ’70, Hon.D.’09, a member of the Philadelphia University Board of Trustees, is chairman and CEO of MAG Industrial Automation Systems.  Alumnus Leon Bryn ’74, president of TCI Composites, also attended the opening.

MAG is a worldwide leading machine tool and systems solutions company serving the durable-goods industry. Utilizing a comprehensive line of equipment and technologies in combination with diverse process engineering knowledge, MAG provides tailored manufacturing solutions to customers in the aerospace, machining, automotive, heavy equipment, and energy sectors.

Earlier this year, MAG donated a fully automated, state-of-the-art prototyping machine called a Vertical Machining Center (VMC) for producing complex tooling and will provide a sophisticated, hands-on tool for faculty and students to build prototype parts for class work and research projects. The VMC is part of Philadelphia University’s Biomedical Textile Structures Laboratory.
