Trish Shafer, director of career services, said the job outlook seems to have improved for this year’s graduates in fashion design, merchandising and industry management, according to Women’s Wear Daily (pages 12-13) May 18.  Although recruiting started later, many retailers did come to campus, including  some new to campus this year, such as Ross Stores, Penney’s and Wal-Mart.  Many students are using computer-savvy skills and online networking sites such LinkedIn to pursue jobs, Shafer said.
