Graphic Design Students Recognized with 2010 Adobe® Design Awards

Graphic Design Communication alumna Alexandra Bisono ’10 and student Stephen Rennekamp received semifinalist and honorable mention awards, respectively, at the 2010 Adobe® Design Achievement Awards.

Bisono’s semifinalist award was in the illustration category for her “Everyman’s Library Pocket Poetry Series” illustrated book covers, a project that was produced in the Illustration course taught by Jason Kernevich, adjunct professor in the program.

Rennekamp’s honorable mention award was in the packaging category for his beer packaging, “Catty Whompus,” which was produced in the Package Design course taught by Assistant Professor Maribeth Kradel-Weitzel.

“We are proud of Alexandra and Steve’s accomplishments and recognition in this year’s Adobe awards,” said Frank Baseman, program director and associate professor of Graphic Design Communication. “Their recognition is a testament to the dedicated and talented students and alumni of our design programs.”

Philadelphia University was one of more than 1,000 colleges and universities worldwide that participated in the design competition, with 2,627 total entries submitted.

The Adobe® Design Achievement Awards celebrate student achievement and honor the most talented and promising student graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, digital filmmakers, developers and computer artists from the world’s top institutions of higher education.
