One hundred and forty students joined in reciting the Alpha Lambda Delta honorary society pledge at the chapter installation and induction ceremony on Oct. 2. The ceremony marked the beginning of the national honorary society at Philadelphia University.
The mission of Alpha Lambda Delta is to encourage superior academic achievement, to promote intelligent living and a high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals in society.

Former two-term Alpha Lambda Delta President Dorothy Anderson was the installing officer for the induction ceremony. Aurelio Valente, associate dean of student development, serves as the administrative advisor and Marcella L. McCoy Deh, Ph.D., director of the Honors Program, is the faculty advisor.
