Physician Assistant Studies Program Celebrates PA Week

The Physician Assistant Studies Program celebrated PA Week with community service activities on campus. PA Week commemorates the founding of the PA profession during the late 1960s, and is historically held in early October.

Students in the Class of 2012 majoring in physician assistant studies provided blood pressure checks for the campus community on Oct. 12, and information on sexually transmitted infections with free distribution of condoms and patient information pamphlets on Oct. 13.

On both days, the students also passed out free PA_DAY candy bars (using Payday bars, the students obstructed the first “Y” so it spelled PA Day) to raise awareness about the profession.
