Retro apparel harkens back to simpler times, Natalie Nixon tells Philadelphia Inquirer

Natalie Nixon, director of PhilaU’s fashion industry management program, says retro apparel is popular in these post-recessionary times because they re-create emotional connections with consumers, according to a Dec. 23 story in The Philadelphia Inquirer.  Such nostalgic apparel, often depicting images of neighborhood stores and restaurants, help us “romanticize about a time when things were simpler, easier,” she said.
