PhilaU Celebrates Women’s History Month with Series of Events

PhilaU students, faculty and staff will celebrate Women’s History Month throughout March with a series of events and open classes sponsored by Student Development Programs and the Women’s Resource Committee.


Women’s History Month – including International Women’s Day, celebrated Tuesday, March 8 – is a global celebration of the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Highlights of the PhilaU celebration include:

Give a ____ for International Women’s Day
Tuesday, March 8
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on patio outside of The Kanbar Campus Center
Sponsored by Students for Social Justice.

Empty Bowl Hunger Event
Tuesday, March 8
5 p.m. in The Kanbar Campus Center Performance Space
Decorate your own biodegradable bowl, have a modest meal and learn about Oxfam’s work to help women in agriculture fight world hunger with Students for Social Justice.

S.E.L.F.- Generating Love From Within
Tuesday, March 22
5 p.m. in The Kanbar Campus Center, Room 306
Participate in this self-image workshop by Shana Alston, director of residence life education. Healthy snacks will be provided.
