More than 35 companies were on campus Sept. 22 to recruit students for jobs as part of the annual Corporate Connections event hosted by the Career Services Center. The firms were hiring for full-time positions after graduate as well as internships.
Students in business, engineering, fashion, psychology and professional communication attended the event to network and meet with recruiters from some of the nation’s top employers, including Armani Exchange, Aeropostale, Americorps, J&L Marketing, JCPenney, Kohl’s Department Stores, Old Navy, Phillips Van Heusen, Polartex, QVC, Ross Stores, Target, TD Bank, Toys “R” Us, Verizon and Wal-Mart.
“This event marks the beginning of recruiting season at Philadelphia University,” said Amy Slivinski, associate director of career services. “Many of the employers attending Corporate Connections will be coming back to campus to interview students for specific opportunities during on-campus interviews in October and November.”
Despite the economic uncertainty, about the same number of companies participated in this year’s event as did last year, reflecting their interest in PhilaU graduates.
Students and recruiters met in The Kanbar Campus Center to exchange information and schedule follow-up interviews.
