Students in the Fashion Industries Association will present the 2012 Design X Fashion Show, “Unleashed,” on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. in the Downs Hall Auditorium. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for faculty and staff and will be on sale at the door.
Always an exciting and visually stimulating event, the annual Design X show is a collection of experimental designs constructed from innovative materials that would not typically be used for clothing, such as chicken wire, paint chips, bubble wrap and foil. Past shows have featured out-of-the-box designs, such as a party dress made from plastic bottles, a wedding dress made from coffee filters and a dress made of leaves and flowers.
All of the pieces in the show showcase the creative work fashioned by PhilaU design students in the fashion design problem-solving class. The show challenges students to produce striking, creative designs while using unusual fashion materials.
