Frank Baseman among GD USA’s ‘Most Influential Graphic Designers Working Today’

Frank Baseman is an associate professor and program director of the graphic design communications program at PhilaU.

Frank Baseman, program director of graphic design communication and associate professor at Philadelphia University, was recently recognized on a list of the “Most Influential Graphic Designers Working Today” by Graphic Design USA Magazine.

This year’s list includes notable designers Milton Glaser, Paula Scher, Stefan Sagmeister and others who were selected based on a survey of professionals in the field.

“It’s a very humbling experience,” said Baseman. “To be in the company of some living legends of the graphic design industry is quite simply stunning and overwhelming. I am thrilled, pleased and proud, but mostly humbled.”

Baseman began teaching at PhilaU in 1998. In addition to teaching and overseeing the graphic design communication program, Baseman is the principal of Baseman Design Associates, an award-winning graphic design firm. Baseman has served on the national board of directors for AIGA, the professional association for design, and in 2008 he was awarded the AIGA Fellow Award from AIGA Philadelphia.
