DEC Center Wins Award as an ENR 2013 Best Project

The DEC Center at Philadelphia University is a 38,500 square-foot multipurpose facility built to LEED standards and features reconfigurable floorspace.

The DEC Center at Philadelphia University received an Award of Merit in the category of Higher Education and Research from Engineering News-Record Mid Atlantic 2013 Best Projects. This nationwide competition honors the best building projects of the year as selected by a jury of local prominent industry professionals.

“We are very proud of the DEC Center, an innovative building designed to support the innovative curriculum of the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce,” said Jeff Cromarty, the University’s vice president for administration and chief operating officer. “At PhilaU we take construction management very seriously – from our curriculum to our engagement with partners in building award-winning facilities.”

The award will be presented Dec. 17 at a ceremony in the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Maryland. The DEC Center also will be featured in the December issue of ENR Mid-Atlantic.
