Come Cheer on the Rams as Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams Play First Home Doubleheader on Wednesday

Come out and cheer on the Rams as the men’s and women’s basketball teams play their first doubleheader of the 2013-14 season at home against Georgian Court on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in The Gallagher Athletic Center.

PhotoThe Lady Rams, helmed by Head Coach and Athletic Director Tom Shirley, will play at 6 p.m.  The women defeated West Chester 90-87 in their season opener last Saturday with four players scoring in the double figures: junior guard Monica Schacker, 23 points; senior guard Megan Finn, 18 points; senior guard Samantha Morris, 15 points; and sophomore guard Bria Young, 14 points.  The team ranked second in the southern division on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Preseason Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll.

At 8 p.m., watch as the men take to the home court with Head Coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Herb Magee, the most winning coach in the NCAA.  The Rams placed first in the southern division in the CACC Preseason Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll. The team won its season opener against College of St. Rose and then fell in a narrow loss to Assumption.

Coaches Shirley and Magee are two of the most-winning coaching duos in NCAA history, with a combined total of 1,603 wins—642 for Shirley and 961 for Magee.

Both the men’s and women’s games on Wednesday will open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play. Come cheer the Rams on to victory!
