Three Lady Rams—Mary Costello, Amy Robinson and Libby Nichols—finished the 2013-14 season with top honors in rowing and women’s lacrosse.
PhilaU graduate student Mary Costello and rising junior Amy Robinson were named to the 2014 Division II Pocock All-America Team by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. Costello was named to the first team, while Robinson was a second-team selection.
Costello, an M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies student expected to graduate in August, is a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in Afghanistan as a medical technician. She is PhilaU’s first three-time All-American in rowing.
Robinson, a fashion merchandising and management student, led the varsity eight boat in a gold-medal performance at the Knecht Cup, and third-place finishes at the Frostbite Regatta and the Memorial Cup.
Fulbright Scholar Libby Nichols ’14 was named the 2014 Philadelphia Inquirer Women’s Lacrosse Academic All-Area Performer of the Year on June 10. She was selected by a panel of 28 sports information offices in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The midfielder graduated in May with a pre-medical studies major and a 3.9 GPA. As a Fulbright Scholar, she will conduct a 10-month study in Germany investigating the cognitive effects of heading on youth soccer players. Earlier this month, she was selected to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America Division II Women’s At-Large First Team.
