Morgan Berman ’14, a graduate of PhilaU’s M.S. in Sustainable Design program, was awarded Product of the Year by Rad-Girls.com for her mobile app, MilkCrate, which connects consumers with over 2,000 local and sustainable businesses.
Berman’s contribution to the world of sustainable Philadelphia businesses was recognized April 18 at the first-ever Rad Awards—a celebration honoring women who inspire others in the fields of technology, media, culture and business.
“I feel right about my life if I’m working every day on something I would do for free because it is that important,” Berman told Rad-Girls.com. “Success would be knowing that my work, and my team’s work, is doing what we set out to do—engaging people around sustainability and empowering them to make choices that improve our communities and our environment.”
Berman founded MilkCrate as part of her master’s thesis project at PhilaU with support from the University’s Blackstone LaunchPad, which provides students with entrepreneurial resources.
