The Slinky Is “Magic,” Industrial Design Program Director Tod Corlett Tells The Philadelphia Inquirer

The Slinky, a low-tech stack of flat, coiled metal celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, is “magic,” Tod Corlett, director of industrial design programs, told The Philadelphia Inquirer in a story on the nostalgic yet still popular favored toy of children–and adults.

“It’s sensual and visceral and pure,” said Corlett, noting that he still has his childhood Slinky in a wooden box. “There’s something addictive about how a Slinky  feels and sounds when tossed from one hand to another.”
