PhilaU Student-Athletics Lead CACC on All-Academic Team

Philadelphia University leads the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with eight student-athletes earning a spot on the 2015-16 CACC Winter All-Academic Team.

The women’s basketball team had five players named to the All-Academic team, while men’s basketball had three honorees, the CACC announced.

On the women’s side, College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 1 Team selection Tori Arnao was named to the CACC Winter All-Academic Team for the third straight season, Jackie McCarron made her second straight All-Academic team, and Rachel Day, Kelsey Jones and  and Erin Rafter are all first-time honorees.

CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team player Peter Alexis leads the men with his third CACC All-Academic Team accolade. Mike Louden is on the team for the second straight year and Winston Folkes made his first All-Academic team.

Louden and Jones earned the CACC Top XV Award in their respective sports for having the highest grade-point average in the CACC Tournament semifinal round.

Philadelphia University has had 30 student-athletes named to a CACC All-Academic Team so far this year.
