PhilaU-TJU Integration Helping To Transform The Region: Philadelphia Business Journal

The integration of Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University is helping to transform the Philadelphia region in 2017, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported Jan. 20. The union of Thomas Jefferson University and Philadelphia University, once finalized, will create a school with 7,500 students making it the fifth-largest university in the city, the Business Journal reported.

“If anyone asks themselves, why would an almost 200-year-old health sciences university merge with a rapidly growing university that has excelled in design and innovative education. … It’s because together we can reimagine a new kind of education for the jobs of the future,” said Dr. Stephen K. Klasko, president and CEO of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. Philadelphia University President Stephen Spinelli Jr. is a key player in the integration, the Business Journal said.
