Graphic Design USA has named Frank Baseman, graphic design communication professor at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University), one of its Educators to Watch.
Baseman has taught at Jefferson since 1998, and in 2007, he earned the University’s Innovation in Teaching Award. Work produced by his students has been recognized by the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, AIGA, Graphis New Talent Design Annual and UCDA. Baseman also is the creative director and principal of Baseman Design Associates.
“Design education and educators have more influence than ever on the fast-changing shape of design, media and culture,” Graphic Design USA wrote of its Educators to Watch. “These are people who are making a difference to their students, schools and community.”
Earlier this year, Graphic Design USA named Jefferson a top graphic design school. In addition, the publication recognized graphic design communication seniors Peter Aston and Zachary Faust as Students to Watch.
